話劇選播了 Eric Clapton 的這首歌，X 說那不是我的年代，一定不認識。事實上我不單知道這首歌，家裡還有那張 Unplugged CD，而且是我最喜歡的樂曲之一。那時還是很年輕的我，在唸中學吧，某天早上從收音機聽到剛奪得格林美獎的這首歌曲，還有創作這首歌曲背後的故事——為紀念早逝的兒子，而深受感動。

孔子曰：「未知生，焉知死。」
第四堂課，他說：「學會死亡，你就學會活著……」

我曉得這樣的類比實在有點那個，只是生死問題，不論古今中西，都是我們不能免俗要談、要面對的恆久課題。

面對著患有肌肉萎縮性脊椎側索硬化症 (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis，簡稱ALS)、生命只剩下幾個月的恩師，表像看來擁有成功事業、美滿生活的作者，也不得不正視自己內在的惶惑困頓，把握最後的機會，向積極面對死亡的老師討教人生幾個不能不談的重要命題。這就是《最後14堂星期二的課》(Tuesdays with Morrie) 一書的緣起。

故事談的可說都是老生常談，只是，這些老話若沒有被提起，我們都早已淡忘。直到我們遇上類似的境地，面對疾病、痛苦、傷害、欺騙、失敗的時候，我們才會認真的想應該執著什麼、放棄什麼、遠離什麼、擁抱什麼？

中英劇團演出話劇《相約星期二》就是改編這書，陳鈞潤老師的翻譯固是了不起，演員也是一貫的水準表現。可惜就是欠缺了一些驚喜。意外的竟是愛哭鬼在周圍都有小姐抹淚找紙巾的情況下，卻只有一種會心的觸動，眼淚始終沒有掉下來。
